Lena Hilbers Ostermann, age 93, of Windthorst, Texas passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018, in Wichita Falls.

Vigil service and rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Windthorst.  Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Moloney, O.F.S. Parochial Administrator of St. Mary's and St. Boniface Catholic Church, and Deacon Don Brown officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Lena was born December 29, 1924 in Slaton, Texas to the late Frank J. Hilbers and Tillie Albertina Anderle Hilbers.

She graduated from Windthorst High School.

She married the love of her life, Jerome G. Ostermann, on June 3, 1946 in Windthorst.  He preceded her in death on May 31, 2005.

Lena was a homemaker throughout her life.  She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Mother's Society.  She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society for several years.  She loved gardening, sewing and crocheting, and baking. Lena was well known for her cinnamon rolls and she made sure every family member received an afghan for graduation.

Survivors include five daughters, Helen Brown and husband, Deacon Don of Windthorst, Margie Vieth and husband, Jerry of Windthorst, Janice Knezek and husband, Jim of Seymour, Martha Talley and husband, Donnie of Windthorst and Rita Gauthier and husband, Paul of Wichita Falls; three sons, Raymond Ostermann and wife, Doreen, Jerry Ostermann and wife, Floyetta, and James Ostermann and wife, Cathy all of Windthorst; one brother, Floyd Hilbers of Windthorst; one sister, Agnes Schreiber of Windthorst; twenty-seven grandchildren; fifty-three great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Marie Hilbers, Gertie Poirot, Frances Veitenheimer; and her grandsons, Vieth twins.
