Lena Mae Kuykendall Kinsey, age 100, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018, in Archer City.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2018, at Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City with Verner Hayhurst and Dan Reddick, former and current pastors of the Archer City Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Aulds Funeral Home.

Lena was born August 15, 1917 in Clay County, Texas to Theodore Kuykendall and Sarah Elizabeth Harvey Kuykendall. When she 17 years old, she married Finis Lee Kinsey, the love of her life on October 20, 1934 in Bellevue.

Lena helped her husband in his backhoe business, worked as a nurse's aide at the Archer City Hospital, and kept books for the Archer City Church of Christ, where she was a faithful member.  She was a loving care giver to her family and friends, and volunteered at the Archer City Thrift Store for 30 years. She is known for her beautiful hand-made quilts and sending cards for every occasion to family and friends.  She liked to keep herself busy, always doing something for others.

Lena will be greatly missed by her daughter, Louise Rux and husband, Sonny of Archer City; daughters-in-law, Bertie Kinsey of Archer City and Shirley Kinsey of Decatur; three brothers, Lynn Kuykendall of Anchorage, Alaska, Bud Kuykendall of Corpus Christi, and Gene Kuykendall and wife, Joyce of Grand Prairie; one sister, Hazel Pruitt and husband, Red of Lake Cherokee, Texas; ten grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; twenty-eight great-great-grandchildren; many extended family members and friends from her love filled life of 100 blessed years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Finis on May 6, 1992; two sons, Carl Virgil Kinsey on July 17, 2002 and Billy Blant Kinsey on July 31, 2014; two brothers, Lewis and Noel Kuykendall; three sisters, Ruby Nell Davis, Helen Mazzo and Ethel Cooley; and three great-grandchildren, John Mark Mullins, Zachary Blant Mullins, and Ayme-Marie Alsup.
