Lela Fitts Smith, age 96, of Electra, Texas passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019, in Electra.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2019, in the Electra Memorial Park with Terry Hickman, Pastor of Bible Baptist Church, and Nathan Smith of Electra, officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Lela was born December 12, 1922 to the late George Washington Fitts and Cora Bell Smith Fitts.

She and Leonard Smith were married April 26, 1941 in Frederick, Oklahoma.  He preceded her in death on August 11, 2013.

Lela was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Electra.  She was known for her baking especially  her pies, brownies and banana pudding.  Lela was an artist and loved to draw.  She always followed her children in all of their activities while they were in school.  She loved the Dallas Cowboys and watching golf and tennis.

Survivors include daughter, Sue Smith of Electra; son, Windell Smith and wife, Connie of Wichita Falls; five sisters, Hazel Morgan of Electra, Viola Goodwin and husband, Jim of New Braunfels, Norma Jean Beaver and husband, Jim of Jacksonville, Florida, Mary Katherine Hall and husband, Walter of Dallas, Geraldine Payne and husband, Bob of Flagstaff, Arizona; brother, Jerry Don Fitts and wife, Brenda of Electra; sister-in-law, Dell Smith of Benbrook; two grandchildren, Andy Christopher Smith of Graham, Joseph Blackburn Smith of Junction; and one great-granddaughter, Abigail Smith of Graham.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers.
