Allen Lane Simmons was born November 4, 1957, in Vernon, Texas to L.G. and Mary Lou Simmons of Crowell, Texas. He entered eternal rest on Monday, September 23, 2024.
Lane graduated from Crowell High School in 1976. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Lane and Cynthia Massie were married April 24, 1976, in Lawton, Oklahoma. They moved to Electra, Texas when Lane joined Hal Williams and Albert McAlister in Electra Construction Company on January 2, 1979.
Over the next 38 years Electra Construction Company built many schools, banks, business offices, church annexes, and carwashes. The most notable was the MPEC, Kay Yeager Coliseum, and House of Hope in Wichita Falls, Texas.
In 2017, Lane became the sole owner of all 21 carwashes. The next 5 years he enjoyed taking care of the business with his grandson, Jackson Simmons, and best friend, Jose Mandujano and retired after selling all carwashes in October 2022.
Lane had 2 hobbies Motorcycle Trials Competitions and being a Texas State Certified Handgun Instructor.
He often reminisced about his cherished memories of family vacations to Lake City, Colorado, trips he took in the motor home, he and Cindy's 40th anniversary trip to Alaska, and family cruises through the Hawaiian Islands.
Lane is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cindy Simmons, his two daughters, Amie & Anita, and his two beloved dogs Thor and Athena.
Amie Lois Myers and husband, Peter Myers reside in Lucas, Texas. Anita Lynn Simmons resides in Dallas, Texas.
His grandson, Jackson Lee Simmons and wife Briana and grandson Michael Lane Myers.
His great-grandson Andrew Liam Simmons and great-granddaughter Emma Rae Simmons.
His brother Lynn Simmons and wife Patty of Crowell, Texas and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Lane in death are his son, Michael Lane Simmons and his sister Anna Lynnette Simmons.
A visitation will be held Sunday, September 29th from 2-3 pm at Aulds Funeral Home, 420 N Waggoner Street in Electra, Texas. A graveside memorial service will be held Monday, September 30th at 10 am at the Crowell Cemetery in Crowell, Texas off S Highway 6. Officiating the service is nephew and Pastor, Edward Bowles.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
