Kenneth Francis Koetter passed from this earth on January 11, 2019, at the age of 94.
Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2019, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Windthorst, Texas with Rev. Michael Moloney, O.F.S. Parochial Administrator of St. Mary's and St. Boniface Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Scotland under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
Kenneth was born on December 6, 1924, in Windthorst, Texas to Henry and Anna Koetter. He attended Windthorst Public Schools and graduated in 1942. Immediately after graduation, Kenneth entered the US Army and served his country in Europe. He was honorably discharged in 1945 and returned to Texas.
Kenneth began working for Southwestern Bell in 1947 and remained employed there for thirty-eight years, working as a lineman, cable splicer, and switchman. He was recognized for having perfect attendance for fifteen years.
On August 27, 1954, Kenneth married Florence Evon Luig. They remained married for 64 years and raised six children together.
Kenneth was consistently a good and faithful servant to the Lord, our God, as well as to his family, church and community. He was unusually generous with his time, serving countless church and community causes, particularly those associated with his children. He served as president of the Telco Credit Union and was a 4 th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Kenneth lived and long and productive life. He will be deeply missed by his family.
He is survived by his wife, Florence; daughter, Debra Tyler and husband, Robert of Houston, Texas; son, Greg Koetter and wife, Teresa of La Grange, Texas; daughter, Karrie Bajorasand husband, Bill of Hunstville, Alabama; son, Kenny Koetter and wife, Tara of Norman, Oklahoma; and son, Brandon Koetter and wife, Darla of Jenks, Oklahoma; along with fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his sister, Rosella; brothers, Edwin and Virgil; as well as his son, Sydney Jay
