Karen Marie Foster, age 60, of Archer City, Texas passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at a Wichita Falls Hospital.
A vigil service and rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2015, at Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City with Deacon Don Brown officiating. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Windthorst with Rev. Michael Moloney, O.F.S. Parochial Administrator of St. Mary's and St. Boniface Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
Karen was born March 20, 1955 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Floyd George Hilbers and Mildred Annie Schreiber Hilbers.
She graduated from Windthorst High School in 1973. Karen graduated from the University of Phoenix with an Associate's Degree in Business.
She and Allen Foster were married on September 8, 1973 in Wichita Falls.
Karen worked at Haggar Slacks in Olney, Texas from 1973 to 1992 when she went to work at ABB in Wichita Falls, Texas. She worked at ABB from 1992 until 2009. She was currently employed at the Browse Shop since 2009. She enjoyed her work at the Browse shop which included tailoring custom clothing orders for individuals on the rodeo circuit.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Windthorst and the Catholic Daughters of America.
Karen was a kind and generous person, always thinking of others. Karen valued service to the community and others, high personal morals and ethics, patriotism, and her devotion to her family and the Catholic Church.
Karen's hobbies included sewing, baking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
She will be missed by many including her husband, Allen Duane Foster of Archer City; one daughter, Randi Marie Mardis of Fort Worth, Texas; one son, William "Bill" Foster and wife, Emily of Tonganoxie, Kansas; four grandchildren, William "Matt" Foster, Jr., Dean Clayton Foster, Avery Marie and Gladys Paige Mardis; her parents, Floyd and Mildred Hilbers of Windthorst; two brothers, Floyd Hilbers, Jr. of Windthorst and Steven Hilbers and wife, Linda of Archer City; four sisters, Edith Townsend and husband, Randy of Wichita Falls, Linda Haynes of Killeen, Texas, Marlene Ermis Marshall and husband, Donnie of Wichita Falls, and Cindy Carlton and husband, Mike of Wichita Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
