As her family members and friends have expressed, a single obituary writing simply does not compare to knowing and being loved by Judy. You could easily write pages upon pages about the life Judy lived, the kind of person she was to so many others, and the memories and legacy she leaves behind. No words on paper would ever be able to encapsulate all that she was; for a woman like Judy is one in a million.

Judy was born July 2, 1947, in Olney, Texas to the late Chester Calvin Crowley and Mary Lee Sapp Crowley.

She graduated from Archer City High School, where she was proud to serve as a cheerleader for the ACHS '64 State Champion football team. She then graduated from Midwestern State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education.

Judy married her junior high sweetheart and the love of her life, Mike Stewart, on February 25, 1967, in Archer City. A day that would set the stage for 58 years of love, laughter, and adventure.

Judy was an infectiously enthusiastic teacher for over thirty years for the Throckmorton ISD and was much loved by her students.  Loved even though she was known to playfully throw an eraser every now and then to grab students' attention. Her love of education extended to the members of her classes, and hearing from former students was often a delight of her life, no matter how old it made her feel at times.  Judy loved traveling with her beloved husband, especially to Ruidoso where she enjoyed the horse races and of course, shopping. Judy aways relished her role as mother, and later, known as Nana, immensely enjoyed being a large part of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's lives. There was not a ball game or event where her grandchildren and great-grandchildren would look up and not see her in the stands cheering. Her famous saying, "Love you to Buxahoola and back!" will echo for generations to come.

Judy was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she served on multiple committees.  She also attended First Baptist Church of Archer City. Judy was also a member of the Jr. Women's Club of Throckmorton. Judy's service to her communities was unmatched and she was well known for making any event a chance to laugh and delight with others.

Survivors include her husband, Mike of Archer City; three sons, Jess Stewart and wife, Shay of Stephenville, Josh Stewart and wife, Sarah of Elbert, Colorado and Jason Stewart and wife, Jori of Throckmorton; one daughter, Julie Harmon and husband, Doug of Wichita Falls; two brothers, Jim Bob Crowley and wife, Carol and Bill Ed Crowley and wife, Tami, all of Archer City; step-brother, James Hawkins of Carbondale, Colorado; a whopping thirteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  After her sister, Sue, passed away, Judy acquired three bonus children, Cody Wells and wife, Dorothy, Casey Wells and wife, Courtney and Shelley Wells Peterson and husband, Kent. Judy was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Doyle Wells. We know that Judy was welcomed with open arms into heaven by Sue and her mother, Mary Lee. A grand re-uniting that Judy had been longing for quite some time.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jess Stewart, Josh Stewart, Jason Stewart, Doug Harmon, Casey Wells and Cody Wells.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Wichita Falls, P.O. Box 4804, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
