Pat was born August 4, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Rev. Ernest Wilbert Quillen and Virginia Lou Kelm Quillen.
He and Mary Detmer were married January 31, 1976 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Electra, Texas. They just recently celebrated a blessed forty-nine years of marriage.
Pat grew up in the Lutheran Church as a pastor's kid. After marrying Mary, he attended and was a parish member of St. Paul's Catholic Church with his family.
He honorably served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War, where he was part of the Road Clearing Platoon. Pat also rode in the Mounted Calvary for President Richard Nixon's Inauguration.
After his time in the Army, Pat became a heavy equipment operator, building many location pads in the oilfield and clearing countless acres of mesquite trees. Most of his life, however, was spent working in construction for Electra Construction Company Incorporated and M & F Litteken Company. Pat also owned and operated his own concrete business.
Pat enjoyed wood carving and hunting. He never met a stranger and loved visiting. Above everything else, Pat adored his family the most. He always followed and supported his two boys in all of their activities and that spilled over to his four grandchildren, who affectionately called him Poppy, as well.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Quillen of Electra; two sons, Keith Quillen and wife, Emily of Crowley and Ryan Quillen and wife, Amanda of Electra; four sisters, Michelle Hartman and husband, Jack of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mary Twyford of Wichita Falls, Jennifer Wells and husband, Greg of Norman, Oklahoma and Andrea Quillen of Edmond, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Macy, Hudson, Piper and Hayden; one brother-in-law, Herbert Detmer, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Iowa Park; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Turner and husband, Clark of Burkburnett and Tracey Lowe of Electra; and numerous nieces and nephews.
