John Leonce Doiron was born January 31, 1959 to Everett Nolan and Doris Jean (Robinson) Doiron in Pasadena, Texas. After what his wife calls, “a perfect day”, John passed instantly on the Nation’s 250th Birthday, July 4, 2026.

Affectionately referred to as Johnny, Dad, Daddy, Pops, Papa John, and JD, John was the fourth son of six children.

He enlisted the United States Marine Corps in 1976. After his service, he became a machinist in the Houston oil and gas industry and pitched for a Houston semi-pro baseball team.

He married Pamela Gail McPhaill on June 20, 1981 in Pasadena, Texas and started his family. John managed a leading appliance superstore and became an award-winning enterprise security salesman. He pursued network engineering at Southern Methodist University - Houston Campus. John founded and operated ConnectCo Internet Services Company. He and his wife moved to Central Texas where the family runs The Smilin’ D Ranch.

John was an overcomer known for his fun-loving and joyous spirit, his big heart, endearing personality, and brilliant problem-solving mind. He loved deeply and never met a stranger. John was a man of faith, and knew that God, his Father, dwelled within him. He was bold, yet gentle, in sharing his faith. He believed the only Bible someone may ever read is the person standing before them saying they love God.

Throughout his adult life, John carried a deep love of learning. He devoted his days to studying and exploring a plethora of subjects, generously sharing his discoveries with others in the hope of encouraging and enriching those around him.

John is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, brothers – Robert Everett, Keith David, and Gerald Patterson; Uncle Pat, Aunt Wanda, and Cousin Russell Robinson; Uncle Charles “Boots” and Aunt Mary Doiron, granddaughter, Zoë Kalliópe Morgan, and great nephew, Zach Zepeda.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pamela Gail, their children and grandchildren – Joshua Leonce and Jessica Nicole, Vivienne Joie; Jessica Kalliópe, Jacob Paul and Christine Elizabeth; Gerald Patterson and Kiley Dawn, Penelope Harpar, Olivia Jean, and Noah Riley; and his beloved mother-in-love – Barbara Gail McPhaill; Brother – Phillip Bronson Doiron; sister – Melanie Anne Galvan; sister-in-law and brother-in-law – Sheryl and Brad King; cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

John rests at The Smilin’ D Ranch in Texas.
