Jimmy Southerland, age 62, of Electra, Texas passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in the Electra Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015, at the First Baptist Church of Electra with Pastor Joe Ainsworth officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
Jimmy was born January 25, 1953 in Electra to John Logan Southerland and Mary Jo Hanson Southerland.
He graduated from Electra High School and then was employed at Natco, now Cameron, for several years where he was a welder. He also was employed for John B. Barbour Trucking Company in Iowa Park as a truck driver.
He and Ginger Laird were married May 2005 in Electra.
Jimmy loved fishing, camping, water skiing, and the Dallas Cowboys. His most favorite pastime was shop talking.
Survivors include his wife, Ginger Southerland of Electra; five daughters, Betsy Buchanan of Galveston, Texas, Mindy Southerland of Wichita falls, Jenny Lowe and husband, Jason of Wichita Falls, Chellinna Harris and husband, Randall of Katy, Texas, and Amy Lamme' of Palestine, Texas; three sons, Johnathan Southerland and wife, Sammie of Graham, Derric Lowe and wife, Carol of Godley, Texas, and Randy Lamme' of Wichita Falls; his mother, Mary Jo Southerland of Electra, three sisters, Joyce Light and husband, William of Electra, Janice Williams and husband, Greg of Rogers, Arkansas, and Jenette Southerland of Electra; one brother, Jerry Southerland and wife, Cheryl of Electra; and nineteen grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, one grandson and one great-grandson.
