Born on July 2, 1949 in Matador, Texas to James and June Meador, he was known for his sense of humor, strong work ethic, and his love of the cowboy way of life. His family was his pride and joy, and he especially loved ranching with his son, Marlon. A man of many interests, his true passion was always working with the fresh dirt. He began plowing fields as a child in Flomot, maintained race track and rodeo grounds as an adult, and finally owned and ran a successful heavy equipment company, Meador Dozer, for ten years, featuring his prized possession, Maude.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Dynell, and his daughters, Michelle (Jim) Payne of Lebanon, Missouri, Melanie (Kendall) Coleman of Archer City, Texas, Mika (Bill) Morgan of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Marlee (Tyler) Koch of Archer City, Texas. He is also survived by grandchildren Zack, Jarred, Quenton, Casey, Bo, Jody, Morgan, Kole, Kaiden, Konner, and Bray, sixteen great-grandchildren, and his sister Tanya (David) Rippetoe of Lubbock, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and June Meador, his son, Marlon Meador, and his brother, Charles Meador.
