Jim Loftis, age 51, of Archer City, Texas passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at his residence.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, at the First Baptist Church of Archer City with Roger Deerinwater, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, and Kile Bateman, Pastor of Evangel Temple of Wichita Falls, officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Aulds Funeral Home.
Jim was born February 20, 1962 in Olney, Texas to Edwin Leeland "Eddie" Loftis and Janie Rue Murdock Loftis.
Jim lived the cowboy life and grew up on the Parkey Ranch. He graduated from Archer City High School.
He and Sharon Longacre were married February 26, 2008 in Archer City.
Jim was the owner and operator of Jim Loftis Bulldozing for seventeen years and then was employed by Miller's Dozers for three years.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He also was a member of the Archer City Volunteer Fire Department for twenty-two years. Jim volunteered for the Boy Scouts of America for twelve years.
Jim was a loving husband, father, son, brother, friend and a good man who was loved by all.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Loftis of Archer City; three sons, Dusty Loftis and wife, Taelor of Jal, New Mexico, Chris and Colin Simmons of Archer City; father, Eddie Loftis and wife, Patsy of Scotland; mother, Janie Light and husband, Harvey of Archer City; sister, Julie Womack and husband, Curt of Archer City; fathers-in-law and mothers-in-law, Doug and Carolyn Rainey of Stephenville, Texas and Karl and Sharon Longacre of Mabank, Texas; nephew, Trey Womack; two nieces, Amanda Riojas and husband, Javier of Christoval, Texas, and Cassie Lindsey of Stephenville; several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.
Jim was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Lee Loftis, Jr. on August 4, 2003.
Serving as pallbearers will Jimmy Bacon, Jr., Ricky Berend, Nelson Clark,Mark Green, Jay Miller, and Rick Miller. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Archer City Volunteer Fire Department and the Boy Scouts of America Troop 100 Pack 100.
