Janice Wood Cranford, age 86, of Electra, Texas passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025, in Electra Health Care.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra with Roger Sanford, Pastor of Electra Community Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery in Vernon under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
Janice was born February 6, 1939 in Vernon, Texas to the late Onis David Wood and Emma Lou Lyles Wood.
After graduation, she was employed at McClurkans in Wichita Falls where she was the buyer of ladies clothes for twenty-six years. She also worked at Another Man’s Treasure Estate Sales. She was the owner and operator of Miss Scarlett’s Tea Room and The Gazebo in Electra.
Janice married Richard W. “Dick” Cranford on August 8, 1987 in Electra. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2019.
Janice was a member of Electra Community Church. She enjoyed knitting and needlepoint.
Survivors include her sister, Barbara Morton and husband, Gene of Vernon; brother, Damon Wood of Electra; two step-children, Wayne Cranford and wife, Duron of Electra and Cathy Cranford of Iowa Park; one nephew, Chris Morton and wife, Julane of Vernon; one great-nephew, Jake Morton and wife, Bri and their son, Carter of Amarillo and one great-niece, Jacy Morton of Vernon.
She was also preceded in death by one step-son, Jason Cranford on August 10, 2012.
