Jan Morgan, age 90, of Holliday, Texas, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family in Hospice of Wichita Falls.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Mankins Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Terry Grace, Pastor of Mankins Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Holliday Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Jan was born June 24, 1936, in Shell City, Missouri to the late Robert and Laura Hardie. She attended school in Shell City where she was a baton twirler. Jan also enjoyed a good game of volleyball when she was younger.

She and Raymond Morgan, Sr. were married June 2, 1954, in Riverton, Wyoming. He preceded her in death on March 26, 2007.

Jan was quite the spunky lady, you might say. She enjoyed going to the casinos, gardening and fishing. She was also an excellent cook, making a mean stew and roast. Jan was fond of an occasional Jack Daniel’s drink, always keeping a bottle hidden under the kitchen sink, though strictly for special occasions according to her. She and her family were also big game players. They all had a love of the game Monopoly and Jan always won somehow. It wasn’t until someone followed her into the kitchen for a drink one day, that they figured out Jan had placed an entire set of monopoly money, cards and game pieces in her freezer, where she would ever so cleverly grab some extras with her “drink”.

Above all she did and enjoyed in life, her children and grandchildren were the apple of her eye. Jan loved her grandchildren fiercely, even if she did cheat them out of a game of Monopoly here and there. She was a vicious and competitive Nintendo player with her grandchildren and would beat them every, single time, even if they fell in the floor screaming and crying, she was not going to let them win.

She was a longtime member of the Kamay Assembly of God Church.

Jan is survived by her four children, Spanky Morgan of Holliday, Connie Harms and fiancé, Tobin Ricks of Wichita Falls, Treva Cunningham and husband, Kevin of Electra, and Randy Morgan and Junior of Hampton, Arkansas; fourteen grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren on the way; one brother, Robert George Hardie and wife, Ruthann of Butler, Missouri; one sister, Mary Hardinger of Oxford, Connecticut; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jan was also preceded in death by one sister, Janie Venter; son-in-law, Neal Harms; granddaughter, Jan Anderson; great-granddaughter, Mavah Morgan; and great-grandson, Colton Weens.
