James R. Richey, age 82, of Archer City, Texas passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015, in the Archer City Nursing Center.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2015, at Aulds Funeral Home with Roger Deerinwater officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Aulds Funeral Home.
James was born November 14, 1932 to the late John Richey and Nora Mae Smith Richey in Archer City.
He and Claudia Rodriguez were married December 6, 1959 in Laredo, Texas.
James was employed for Penrod Drilling Company for twenty-seven years until his retirement in 1984. In 1984, he returned to Archer City. After his retirement, he was an oilfield pumper for several years. He enjoyed traveling throughout the country and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia of Archer City; one son, Dale Richey and wife, Charlotte of Archer City and two grandsons, Darren and Jarrod Richey of Archer City.
The family suggests memorials to the Archer Service Center, P.O. Box 578, Archer City, Texas 76351 or to the Archer City Fire Department, P.O. Box 367, Archer City, Texas 76351.
