James C. "Jim" Davis, age 90, of Lake Kickapoo, Texas passed away March 12, 2015, in Big Spring, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2015, at Aulds Funeral Home in Archer City with his nephew, Kerry Freeman of Christ Covenant Fellowship, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
Jim was born July 1, 1924 in Medford, Oklahoma to the late James Henry Davis and Helen Dovee Davis.
He married Oleta Polvadore on May 27, 1946 in Amarillo, Texas. She preceded him in death on October 17, 2005.
During World War II, Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corp. He was employed in civil service at Sheppard Air Force Base until his retirement in May 1978.
Jim was a founding member of the Lake Kickapoo Fire Department where he served as fire chief. He was an avid fisherman and gardener.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Mason and husband, Larry of Colorado City, Texas and Denise Bowles and husband, Richard of Reno, Nevada; two grandchildren, Jamie Munoz and husband, Jeremiah of Clyde, Texas and Ryan Mason and wife, Audrey of Ozona, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Jade Munoz and Austin Mason; two sisters, Bettye Freeman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Patty Sharber of Amarillo, Texas; and one brother, Bill Davis of Amarillo, Texas.
