Jack Parkey, 69, of Dundee, Texas passed away July 16, 2014 in Wichita Falls.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Holliday, Texas on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 2:30 in the afternoon with Paul Meyenberg officiating. A reception will follow, but there will be no public graveside service, as Jack wished his ashes returned to the ranchland he so dearly loved. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

He was born January 27, 1945 in Stephenville Texas to the late James Robert "Jim" Parkey Jr. and Helen DeMontel Parkey. Jack was also preceded in death by his sister, Sara Parkey Mayo and step-mother, Jolene Cullum Parkey.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Ann Avis Parkey; son, James Robert Parkey IV, M.D. of Jolly, and wife, Katie Pritchett Parkey with daughters, Rachel, Alexandra and Ellen; son, David Warren Parkey of Seymour, and wife, Vanessa Runnels Parkey with children, Victoria, Isabelle and Whit; daughter, Jennifer Parkey Herring of Archer City and husband, Todd with children Maeley, and Jack; and a brother, George Proctor Parkey and wife, Kim of Fredericksburg, Texas.

Jack was a patriot and proud citizen who loved his country, his family and the ranch south of Dundee, where for over thirty-five years, he was happy and at peace as a steward of the land.

Jack graduated high school from Kemper Military Academy in Missouri. He attended The University of Texas in Austin before earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. He later earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration and Finance from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.

Jack worked for over a decade as a Trust Officer and Vice-President at First Wichita National Bank in downtown Wichita Falls, before returning to the family ranch in Archer County where he would spend the rest of his life.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Rd. Wichita Falls, Texas 76310. His family would like to express their deepest gratitude and thanks to his homecare team and the in-patient center staff at Hospice of Wichita Falls for their loving care.
