James Allen age 86, of Windthorst, Texas passed away December 30, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2015, at St Mary's Catholic Church in Windthorst. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
He was born March 1, 1928 in Gulfport Mississippi to Lucian Allen and Katie Farve Allen.
He and Della Berend were married on June 13, 1981 in Windthorst.
Survivors include his wife, Della of Windthorst; daughters, Jeanie Allen Davis and David of Terrell, Texas and Myrti Menoher of Ithaca, NY; sons, James Allen and Karen of Mississippi and Brantley Allen and Jennifer of Saginaw Texas; six step-children, Rick Berend and Carolyn, Beverly Aylor, Darla Schroeder and Cletus, Mike Berend and Cindy, Donnie Berend and Suzanne, and Lonny Berend and Leann; twenty-nine grandchildren, fifty-three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by step-son, Delbert Berend.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Windthorst Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 162, Windthorst, Texas 76389 or to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
