James Tanner Alaniz, age 20, of Vernon, Texas passed away September 3, 2017 as a result of an automobile accident.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2017, at the First Baptist Church of Electra with Toby Castleberry, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Vernon, officiating.  Interment will be held in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Tanner was born October 31, 1996 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Adam Alaniz and Melissa Ann Stevens Alaniz.

He graduated from Vernon High School and was very active in 4H.  He enjoyed showing pigs, hunting and airplanes.

Tanner was employed by George's Aircraft in Vernon.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Vernon.

Survivors include his parents, Adam and Melissa Alaniz of Electra; two sisters, Taiylor and Taighan Alaniz of Electra; grandparents, Edwin and  Terry Stevens of Electra; great-grandmother, Peggy Moore of Electra; his very close friends, Seth, Holli, Cutter, Heaston and Saydee Hall of  Vernon and Lynn, Bethany, Kameron, Kaden, and Khloe Hooker of Vernon; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Jim Moore; great-great-grandparents, Alan and Mildred Carr; and niece, Landree Simms.
