Jacqueline "Jackie" Jones Pemberton, age 84, of Electra, Texas, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022, in Iowa Park, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra with Rev. Terry Hickman, Pastor of Bible Baptist Church of Electra, officiating.  Interment will follow in New Electra Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Jackie was born August 20, 1937 in Electra, Texas to the late Lloyd Alton Jones and Catherine Viola Minderman Jones.

She graduated from Electra High School.  Jackie then attended Midwestern University and later graduated from Draughon's Business College.

While her children were young, she taught aerobics and worked for the Electra ISD for several years.  Later in life, she married Herbert Leach Pemberton on December 1, 1992, in South Lake Tahoe, California and moved to San Ramon, California.  Upon Herbert's death in 1998, she returned to her hometown of Electra. In recent years, she became the "Social Butterfly" of the Electra Healthcare Center, where she was selected as Homecoming Queen, Valentine Sweetheart, and chairwoman of the welcoming committee.  She was affectionately known by everyone as "Granny", whose quick-wit and saucy, upbeat personality always brightened everyone's day.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Alton Jones, and Catherine Viola Minderman Jones; husband, Herbert Leach Pemberton; son Jason Alton Cranford; sister Cynthia LaRue Reese and brother Sammy Joe Jones.

Survivors include one son, Wayne Cranford and wife, Duron of Electra; one daughter, Cathy Cranford of Iowa Park; two grandsons, Chance Haynes and wife, Emily and Chad Haynes and wife, Cierra, all of Iowa Park; three great-grandchildren, Leighton Smoak, Lennon Haynes, and Harper Haynes; one niece, Shannon Gaumont and husband, Dan of Bowie, Texas; two nephews, Jon Reese, Jr. and wife, Pam and Brandon Reese and wife, Diane, all of Wichita Falls, along with several great-nieces and great-nephews.
