IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jackie
Byars
May 11, 1938 – March 15, 2024
Jackie Lee Marshall Byars passed away on March 15, 2024, in Graham, Texas, at the age of 85. She was born on May 11, 1938, in Electra Texas.
The Marshall family was a pioneer family that settled just North of Electra on the Red River and began farming in the early 1800s. Jackie's grandmother, Clara Marshall Taylor, was born in a dugout on the Red River. Jackie was known for her love of horses and was the Electra rodeo queen in her teen years. She had four horses and loved each one dearly.
You cannot talk about Jackie without talking about her Daddy Jack, her Mother Lenna, and her brother Bill. They were a very close family working the farm and devoted Methodist Church members. We can remember the picnics on the bluff of the Red River that we will always hold dear to our hearts.
Jackie was a graduate of Electra High school and went on to attend MSU. She started her career as a nurse at the Texas State Hospital of Wichita Falls and moved on to find her passion working for the railroad. She was a retired employee of BNSF Railroad of Wichita Falls, Texas.
Jackie loved her family and had a very caring nature and sense of humor. She was very strong willed and kept us all on track! She had a passion for collecting Indian statues and artifacts which started on the farm at an early age. She was also a very accomplished bass fisherman. She loved to fish!
Jackie is survived by her daughter Terri, and Dwight Brosam of Cisco, TX. Her daughter Sandy, and Chuck Shults of Graham, TX, and son Steve, and Tamara Walker of Houston, Texas, nephew Mark Marshall of Sugarland, TX, and niece Gayle Dawson of Caddo Mills, TX, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Lenna Marshall of Electra, Texas, and her brother Bill, and Nora Lou Marshall of Electra, Texas and we know they are all reunited again with God in Heaven.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 2 p.m. in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Solaris Hospice of Graham, Texas.
The family would like to thank the employees of the Graham Oaks Care Center and Solaris Hospice of Graham, Texas for the devoted care they gave to our mother as she started her Journey into Gods arms.
She will be missed dearly, and we will be looking forward to the day we are all united again.
