Jack Wayne Kidwell, Sr., age 95, of Electra, Texas, passed away peacefully Wednesday night, January 28, 2026, in Midland, Texas.

At Jack’s request, no formal services will be held. He will be laid to rest next to his wife, Geneva, in Electra Memorial Park. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Jack was born July 24, 1930, right outside of Electra, Texas, on the Bickley Oil Lease to the late Ira Kidwell and Margaret Litten Bostick Kidwell.

He grew up in Electra, graduated from Electra High School, and was a lifelong resident until 2023 when he moved to Midland to be closer to his son Jack, Jr. and his wife, Lisa.

Jack married Geneva Ann McBroom on September 23, 1950, in Electra. They were married for nearly seventy-two years before she preceded him in death on March 22, 2022. He and Geneva were soulmates and a true testament to what marriage is.

Right out of high school Jack worked as a machinist before starting a long and successful career with Texaco as a pumper. He retired in 1989 after thirty-seven years of dedicated service. Ironically during his career, Jack pumped the Bickley Lease where he was born.

Jack enjoyed woodworking and built various things all across town for many of his friends. He was always ready to help his wife with anything she was doing or had for him to do. According to the family, Jack was a real handyman. He also made jewelry and especially made beautiful earrings.

Above all, Jack was a loving man. God and family meant everything to him. He was a great friend to many and cherished each and every friend he had.

Survivors include two sons, Jack Kidwell, Jr. and wife, Lisa of Midland, and Rick Kidwell and wife, Vickie of Electra; one daughter, Dee Ann Berg and wife, Anita of Bergen, Norway; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
