Hortencia Alaniz, age 79, of Electra, Texas, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021, at her residence in Electra.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Electra with Rev. Joseph Moreno and Deacon Dave Poole, officiating.  Interment will follow in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive guests from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Hortencia was born October 28, 1942 in Ozona, Texas to the late Luis Alaniz and Margarita DeLeon Alaniz.

She was married to Beto Garcia and he preceded her in death in the early 1970's.

Hortencia was a homemaker throughout her life.  She loved tending to her flower beds and always had the prettiest flowers for visitors to enjoy.  Hortencia loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She attended St. Paul's Catholic Church in Electra.

Survivors include her twin children, Adam Garcia and Eva Garcia, both of Electra; three brothers, Luis Alaniz of Rockwall, Texas, Carlos Alaniz of Iowa Park, Texas and Adam Alaniz of Electra; five sisters, Josie Barron of Garland, Texas, Esmerelda Guzman of Rowlett, Texas, Delia DeLeon of Rowlett, Texas, Margarita Salinas of Electra and Carmen Alaniz of Mesquite, Texas; five grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
