Holly Clarissa Johnston, age 42, of Scotland, Texas passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, in Wichita Falls.

Vigil service and rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Windthorst. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2026 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Windthorst with Reverend Michael Moloney, OFS, Pastor of St. Mary’s and St. Boniface Catholic Churches, officiating. Private Interment will follow at a later date in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Holly was born August 14, 1983 In Wichita Falls, Texas to J.B. “Nubbin” Johnston and Angela Pauline Veitenheimer Johnston. She began school in Archer City and graduated from Windthorst High School.

Holly worked for Berend Brothers for a few years. She then worked as a jailer for the Sheriff’s Department in Wichita County, Wise County and Clay County. Holly was currently the Jail Administrator for Clay County where she served as Captain.

Holly loved George Strait, going to the beach, Girl’s Trips, boating and horses.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include one son, Ethan Johnston; one daughter, Harlee Johnston both of Scotland; parents, J.B. “Nubbin” and Angela Johnston of Windthorst; one sister, Sabrina Johnston of Florida; grandparents, Ralph and Clara Veitenheimer of Windthorst; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends.

Holly was preceded in death by two siblings, Riley Johnston on February 19, 1982 and Gary Scott Johnston on January 23, 2007; grandparents, Clarence Johnston on April 1, 1985 and Cindy Johnston on June 11, 1975; two aunts, Mazie Berend on May 27, 2016 and Loretta Patterson; and two uncles, Gary C. Johnston on April 16, 1970 and Adam Berend on March 12, 2012.
