Electra

Helen Gentry Vestal, age 67, of Electra, Texas passed away Monday, January 19, 2015, in the Electra Healthcare Center.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2015, at First Assembly of God in Electra with Darwin M. Stroud, Pastor of the First Assembly of God, officiating. Interment will follow in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2014, at Aulds Funeral home.

Helen was born October 26, 1947 to Willie Clarence Gentry and Bertha Lucille Scott Gentry in Honey Grove, Texas.

She graduated from Electra High School.

Helen and John Vestal were married January 6, 1967 in Electra.

Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was a homemaker most of her life and later worked as a florist for the local flower shop. She also worked in the lawn and garden department for Walmart in Wichita Falls and enjoyed taking care of flowers and plants. Helen loved fishing, riding motorcycles and traveling all over the United States.

Helen will be deeply missed by those who loved her including her husband, John of Electra; two sons, Chris and wife, Leah of Electra and Darrell of Dallas; two brothers, Robert Gentry of Electra and Jessie Gentry of Ft. Worth; one sister, Dorothy Rodgers of Electra; one grandson, Dauson Vestal and wife, Naomi of Electra and one great-grandson, Jaxon Vestal of Electra.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Weldon and Earl Gentry.
