Helen was born on March 20, 1931, at home in Windthorst Texas to Barbara and Jake Martine.
She attended Wichita Falls schools.

She graduated from Bud Hall Beauty School in Wichita Falls in 1963, and owned and operated Helen’s Beauty Shop for 35 years.
She and Floyd traveled all over the United States with family and friends. She never turned down a mall shopping trip with Rhonda and Brandi, hosting parties at her home or lake cabin, or an afternoon gambling trip with friends.
In her later years, she enjoyed sewing Covid masks, pot holders, and crosses. She was known for her famous chocolate chip cookies that she delivered to Dr. Yap’s office, Fire Station #8, and her nephew Steve’s dental office.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Floyd, her parents, her sisters, Sylvia Knoblich, Mary Lillian Cannedy, and Dorothy Van Galen. Left to cherish many happy memories are: daughter, Rhonda and Brian Hester, granddaughter, Brandi and Kyle Guerry of Knoxville TN, step-grandson, Keith Hester of Wichita Falls, grandchildren, Jackson and Grace Guerry of Knoxville TN and Olivia, Hudson, and Christian Hester of Wichita Falls, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Presbyterian Manor, House of Hope, and Hospice of Wichita Falls (especially Ashley L, Ruth, Sondra, and Amber) for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Archer City Cemetery, PO Box 198, Archer City Texas76351 or to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
