Helen A. Ostermann Brown, age 76, of Windthorst, Texas passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in Hospice of Wichita Falls surrounded by her family.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, in the Chapel of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City with Deacon Don Brown and Deacon Dave Bindel officiating. Private family interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Windthorst. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
Helen was born August 11, 1947 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Jerome George Ostermann, Sr. and Lena Ruby Hilbers Ostermann. She grew up in Windthorst and graduated from Windthorst High School. She then went to X Ray School of Technology at Bethania Hospital in Wichita Falls.
She married the love of her life, Deacon Donald Brown on September 11, 1971 in Windthorst.
Helen was a resident of Winnsboro, Texas from 1981 until 2011. She worked in the medical field for nine years in the Dallas area. She also worked at St. James Catholic Church in Sulphur Springs as the secretary for nine years. Helen was then employed as the HR Specialist for Texas Department of Criminal Justice in Winnsboro for sixteen years until her retirement in 2011 when she moved back to her hometown of Windthorst.
Helen was a member of the Catholic Daughters.
Survivors include her husband, Deacon Donald R. Brown of Windthorst; two daughters, Connie Brown of Crowley and her fiancé, Carlos Ropa of White Settlement and Monica Jerabek and husband, Steve of New Auburn, Wisconsin; four sisters, Margie Vieth and husband, Jerry of Windthorst, Janice Knezek and husband, Jim of Seymour, Martha Talley and husband, Donnie of Windthorst and Rita Gauthier and husband, Paul of Wichita Falls; three brothers, Raymond Ostermann and wife, Doreen, Jerry Ostermann and wife, Floy and James Ostermann and wife, Cathy, all of Windthorst; four grandchildren, Travis Otts of Amarillo, Graycyn McFarland of Blum, Hannah Jerabek and Matthew Jerabek of New Auburn, Wisconsin; two great-grandchildren, Bella and Parker McFarland of Blum; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two nephews.
