Harvey Light, age 80, of Archer City, Texas passed away Thursday, December 03, 2015, at a Wichita Falls Hospital.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015, at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Andy Graham of the Southside Baptist Church of Olney and Roger Deerinwater of Archer City, officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2015 at Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Harvey was born December 10, 1934 in Throckmorton, Texas to Gaylord Preston Light and Thelma Lee Strickland Light.

He and Janie Loftis were married July 23, 2004 in Henrietta, Texas.

During the Korean War and the Vietnam War, Harvey proudly served his country from 1954 until 1985 in the United States Army where he was honorably discharged as a Captain. He was awarded the Army Accommodation Medal and the Purple Heart.

Harvey was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Olney. He was a great musician and he loved to play in jamborees.

Survivors include his wife, Janie Light of Archer City; one son, Preston Light and wife, Stephanie of Salem, Oregon; three daughters, Paula Jean Kuntz and husband, Steve of Burleson, Texas, Diane Burnhart and husband, Steve of Iowa Park,, and Julie Womack and husband, Curt of Archer City; one sister, Shirley Reed of Burnett, Texas; one brother, Jerry Light and wife, Pam of Katy, Texas; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Jim Loftis on June 12, 2013.
