Guadalupe "Lupe" Anzaldua, age 85, of Electra, Texas passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012, as a result of an automobile accident outside of Vernon, Texas.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Electra with Jesse Ochoa, Pastor of the Temple Cento Evangelistico Church in Vernon, officiating.  Interment will follow in the Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Lupe was born December 12, 1927 in Yorktown, Texas to Juan Soliz and Tune Castro Soliz.

She and Johnny E. Anzaldua were married February 22, 1946 in Edinburg, Texas.

She was a devoted mother, always caring and putting her needs of her nine children before her own.  She was well loved and respected by all of her children and everyone that she came into contact with.  She was a member of the Temple Cento Evangelistico Church in Vernon.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny E. Anzaldua of Electra; three daughters, Gloria Anzaldua of Wichita Falls, Alicia Magana and husband, Miguel of Vernon, and Stella Cantrell and husband, Tim of Whitt, Texas; six sons, Johnny Anzaldua and wife, Sandra of Lamesa, Texas, Raul Anzaldua and wife, Kathy of Weatherford, Ernest Anzaldua and wife, Patricia of Vernon,  Joe Anzaldua and fiancé, Tammy Salazar of Weatherford, Adolph Anzaldua and wife, Cecile of Church Point, Louisiana, and Richard Anzaldua and wife, Pinky of Electra; three brothers, Tacho Soliz of Edinburg, Texas, Juan Soliz of Robbstown, Texas and Alfredo Soliz of Edinburg; thirty-two grandchildren; sixty-six great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dominga and Julia; two brothers, Jesus and Nacho; one granddaughter, Stephanie Anzaldua and one grandson, Dusty Anzaldua.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons,  Chad Anzaldua, Cody Anzaldua, Jason Anzaldua, Jeremy Anzaldua, Scott Anzaldua and Roger Nava, Jr.
