Glen Jackson Sampley, age 81, of Iowa Park, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra with Chad Stubblefield officiating.  Interment will follow in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Glen was born November 10, 1942 in Electra, Texas to the late Edgar Monroe Sampley and Jettie Estelle Lindsey Sampley.

He married Rita Kay Terral on March 19, 1998 in Electra, Texas.

Glen was a cowboy who learned his love of horses from the late Wilburn Bedford.  He quit school at the age of twelve to go to work and help his mother make a living after the untimely death of his father.  Glen was a hard man, but a fair man.  He was very quick witted and it took a lot to catch him off guard.  Glen loved team roping and taking his grandchildren fishing and camping.  His grandchildren were the light of his life and he would try anything at least once if it made them happy.  He also had a special love for his dog and best friend, Gizmo.

Glen is survived by his wife, Rita of Iowa Park; one daughter, Fran Lindemann and husband, Tim of Archer County; two sons, Daron Henderson and wife, Ashley of Burkburnett and Terral Henderson and wife, Jessica of Iowa Park; nine grandchildren, Erin Davis, Katie Franke and husband, Tristan, Joseph Cheley, Hagan Henderson, Mya Henderson, Jayda Henderson, Arrayah Henderson, Reagan Henderson and Holden Henderson; one great-grandson, Duncan Allen; his best friend, Gizmo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Davis; two sisters; and five brothers.
