Gladys Scheffe Wolf, age 91, of Windthorst, Texas passed away peacefully Thursday, October 26, 2023, in Wichita Falls.

Vigil Service and rosary will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Windthorst.  Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Reverend Michael Moloney, OFS, Pastor of St. Mary's and St. Boniface Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Gladys was born January 30, 1932 in Windthorst to the late Henry Lewis Scheffe and Catherine Mary Zihlman Scheffe.

She married Alvin A. Wolf on August 7, 1950 in Windthorst.  He preceded her in death on December 23, 1998.

Gladys was a homemaker throughout her life and worked on their family dairy.  She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she volunteered many hours decorating the church and Grotto.  She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society for over 70 years, as well as a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Windthorst Historical Society. Gladys made wedding cakes and floral arrangements for many, many weddings, as well as Homecoming mums.  Gladys enjoyed yardwork and reading, and loved to travel with her family and friends.

Survivors include five daughters, Sherry Berend and husband Gerald, Debbie Schroeder and husband Danny Joe, Carla Schlumpf and husband Steve, and Barbara Hoff and husband Neil, and Kristi Anderson and husband Danny, all of Windthorst; one son, Pete Wolf and wife, Wendy of Windthorst; two sisters, Marie Veitenheimer of Windthorst, and Cathy Carlton and husband Terry, of Lake Arrowhead; two brothers, Bernard Scheffe and wife Pat, and Bobby Scheffe and wife Pat, of Windthorst; two sisters-in-law, Francie Scheffe of Amarillo, and Nellie Scheffe of Marienthal, Kansas; 17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren.

Gladys was also preceded in death by one grandson, Brad Wolf; three brothers, Earl, Hank and Clyde Scheffe; one sister, Mildred Koetter; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Scheffe; and two brothers-in-law, Adolph Veitenheimer and Oliver Koetter.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to either the #BeLikeBrad" (Brad Wolf) Scholarship Fund, C/O Windthorst ISD, PO Box 190, Windthorst Texas 76389; or the Community Lighted Nativity Scene, C/O Barbara Hoff, 2205 Hoff Road, Windthorst, Texas 76389.
