Gertrude "Pat" Henderson, age 85, of Lake Kickapoo passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018, at her residence.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2018, at Grace Community Church of Archer City with Pastor Jon Curry officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Aulds Funeral Home.

Pat was born August 24, 1932 to the late J.B. New and Velma Herring New in Doole, Texas.

She attended school in Melvin, Texas.  She had lived in Seven Rivers, New Mexico from 1948 until 1949.

She married Vernon L. Henderson on March 2, 1949 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.  He preceded her in death on March 21, 2002.

Pat had worked as a rural carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Odessa, Texas until her retirement in 1988.  She then moved to Graham, Texas in 1988 and resided there until moving to Lake Kickapoo in 1995.  Pat was a member of Grace Community Church in Archer City.

Survivors include her sons, Bobby Henderson and wife, Phyllis of Graham and Jimmy Henderson and wife, Maddie of Lake Kickapoo; daughter, Estelle Harrison of Lake Kickapoo; brother, Glynn New of Midland; sisters, JoNell Franklin of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Nadine Nunley of Plainview, and June Kinsey of Artesia, New Mexico; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, Eugene, Darrell and Dean New and sister Virginia Dickerson.
