Gayle Dean Lane, age 85, of Electra, Texas, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, July 19, 2024, in Hospice of Wichita Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Electra with Ryan Vanderland, Pastor of First Baptist Church, and Joe Ainsworth of Electra officiating. Interment will follow in New Electra Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2024 at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
Gayle was born September 26, 1938 in Houston, Texas to the late Clarence Hansford Lane and Willie Helen Lane.
He was a 1957 graduate of Electra High School.
Gayle married Judy Beth Dunlap on February 6, 1981 in Electra, Texas. She preceded him in death on November 21, 2017.
Throughout his life, Gayle worked in oilfield sales for Holli-Tex Supply in Kamay, Texas. He retired in 2019.
Gayle loved golf, playing his guitar and laying out in the sun enjoying the things of God's creation. He was very active at the First Baptist Church of Electra. Above all, Gayle adored his family and loved spending time with them.
Survivors include his daughter, Traci Cooke and husband, Ernie of Wichita Falls; two grandchildren, Kyler McCain and wife, Amber of Wichita Falls and Atlea Martinez and husband, Mateo of Augusta, Georgia; three great-grandchildren, Elijah Dean McCain, Owen McCain and Lainey Beth Martinez; and one niece, Jerrie Moore and husband, James of Wichita Falls.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Bettie Lane Seeds.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
