Gayla Renee Chandler Aldrich, age 65, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving mother and daughters Saturday morning, August 1, 2026, at Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City. Interment will follow in Holliday Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

The family will receive guests from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Aulds Funeral Home.

Gayla was born August 6, 1960, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Gary Lyndol Chandler, Sr. and Loretta Gracie Bohannon Chandler.

She graduated from Hirschi High School in 1978.

Gayla spent twenty-six years working as an administrative assistant at Midwestern State University, most recently in the Alumni Relations Department.

She enjoyed shopping and going out with her friends, but her biggest joy in life was her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her mother, Loretta Chandler of Wichita Falls; her brother, Gary L. Chandler, Jr. and wife, Darla of Iowa Park; two daughters, Hailey Aldrich of Wichita Falls and Heather Johnson and husband, Andrew of Durango, Colorado; four grandchildren, Jocelyn, M.J., Blayke and Harlyn; two nieces, Lindsay Hill and Gracie Poore; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Gayla was preceded in death by her father, Gary Chandler, Sr.; and her son, Heath Aldrich; and her love, Joe Nield.

Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Johnson, Dayton Poore, Todd Barnett, Chris Barnett, Brandon Haggard and Jimmy Cope.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
