Gary Lee McDonald, Sr., age 84, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023 in Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra with Bill Lee of Holliday, Texas and Arley Fancher of Wichita Falls officiating.  Interment will follow in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Gary was born February 25, 1939 in Electra, Texas to the late Howard Lee McDonald and Docia Hughrene Culpepper McDonald.

He grew up in Electra and was a 1957graduate of Electra High School.  After high school, Gary served his country in the United States Air Force from 1958 until 1963.

Gary married Judy Ellen Garland in September 1963 in Washington, D.C.  She preceded him in death on January 12, 2019.

He worked for the United States Postal Service as a sorter and then clerk until his retirement.

Gary loved horses and cattle.

Survivors include one son, Gary L. McDonald, Jr., and wife, Consuelo of Wichita Falls; one daughter, Lea McDonald of Dallas; two grandsons, Jarett and J.J.; and one nephew, Corey McDonald.

He was also preceded in death by his step-father, J.W. Medford; and two brothers, Mike and Richard.
