Gary Dean Lowe, age 81, passed away Friday evening, August 15, 2014, at his residence in Buffalo Springs, Texas.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2014 in the Electra Memorial Park in Electra, Texas with Rev. Bob Lee, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Electra, officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Mr. Lowe was born in Electra on October 22, 1932 to the late Hayes Dean Lowe and Zula Arlene Stephens Lowe. After graduation from Electra High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Berlin, Germany. After the war, he returned to Electra and was employed by Goldsmith's Drug Store and sold insurance for American National Life. In the late 1950's, he began his career with Mobil Oil Co. as a member of a roustabout crew. Over the next thirty years, he worked his way up to an international manager of a natural gas and oil processing plant in Saudi Arabia at the time of his retirement.

He and Barbara Bowden were married February 10, 1956 in Electra. She preceded him in death on August 29, 2012.

He was a former member of the Electra Lions Club and has been a resident of Buffalo Springs since 1992.

Survivors include his son, Larry Dean Lowe, and his wife Pamela of Electra; one brother, Steve Lowe and his wife Sonja, of Carnegie, Oklahoma; two sisters, LaJuana Boyd of Electra, Laura Lee Dillard, and her husband Daryl of Midland, Texas; three grandchildren, Brian Lowe of Electra, Anthony Lowe and wife, Jenna of Mesquite, Texas and Ashlee Oredson and husband, Jerren of Crowley, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Alexis Lowe, Madden Lowe, Ayden, Austen and Aaren Oredson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Melissa Lowe; a brother, Harlan Lowe; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Milt and Ethyl Bowden.
