Fred Douglas Sutherland, age 69, of Bridgeport, Texas, passed away September 15, 2026, in Plano, Texas.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2026, in the Archer City Cemetery, 10 West Evergreen Street, Archer City. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Fred was born March 1, 1957, in Odessa, Texas, to the late William Cleveland Sutherland, Jr. and Betty Jean Pryor Sutherland.

He graduated from Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas, in 1975. Fred continued his education over the years, earning an Associate of Arts from Clarendon College in Clarendon, Texas, in 2003 and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Texas A&M University at Central Texas in 2009. He also completed certifications in Truck Air Brake Repair, Culinary Arts, Drug & Alcohol Counseling, and HVAC Refrigeration Repair.

Fred is survived by his daughters, Sarah of Coahoma, Texas, and Rachel of Big Spring, Texas; his brother, Rod and his wife, Leona, of Bridgeport, Texas; his sister, Janet and her husband, James, of Claremore, Oklahoma; and his brother, Kent and his wife, Shelly, of Arlington, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dub and Betty Sutherland, and by his daughter, Laura Elizabeth Sutherland.
