Frankie Dean Nelson, age 63, lifelong resident of Electra, Texas, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 5, 2026, in Hospice of Wichita Falls.

A celebration of Dean’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the Southside Church of Christ in Electra. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Dean was born December 21, 1962, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to the late Frankie Nelson and Alice Mary Johnson Nelson.

He graduated from Electra high school in 1981. Dean attended Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls and began working for Chase Bank. While working at the bank, he enrolled in the University of Phoenix where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Dean had a remarkable thirty-eight and a half year career with Chase Bank, retiring as Branch Manager. After a short-lived retirement, Dean decided to go back to work and spent several years as a paraprofessional at Cunningham Elementary School in Wichita Falls. He had a soft spot for children and enjoyed teaching and mentoring to them.

Dean married Stacy DeAnn Wages on October 5, 1985 at the Southside Church of Christ in Electra. They enjoyed many wonderful years together. The two of them would get in the car and drive wherever the road led them, to try out local eateries they had never before been to. They also found joy in going camping in the RV.

After retiring, Dean took over the kitchen at home. He had a love for cooking and the food he prepared was a testament to that love. Reading brought him much peace and happiness, diving into a good book each chance he could. Dean was a jokester and loved pulling impractical jokes. He had a love for his two daughters, DeeAnndra and Janna Maree, like only a father can give. They brought him immense joy in life.

He was a lifetime member and elder of the Southside Church of Christ in Electra, where he served as Youth Minister for twenty-three years and Music Minister for many years.

Dean is survived by his loving wife, Stacy Nelson of Electra; two daughters, DeeAnndra Dove and husband, Cody of Grapevine, and Janna-Maree Nelson of Lubbock; his granddog, Apollo; two brothers, Mark Nelson and wife, Claire of Keller, and Michael Nelson and wife, Tina of Graham; one sister, Alicia Hatfield and husband, DeLane of Electra; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, and due to his love of reading and children, the family suggests memorials to Friends of the Electra Public Library, 401 North Waggoner Street, Electra, Texas 76360 or the charity of your choice.
