Floyd J. Morbitzer, age 93, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, in Weatherford.
Services will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Windthorst, Texas. The Vigil Service and Rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m., officiated by Reverend Michael Moloney, OFS, Pastor of St. Mary’s and St. Boniface Catholic Churches. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City, Texas.
Floyd was born November 9, 1932, to the late Joseph Raymond Morbitzer and Catherine Alfreda Weinzapfel Morbitzer.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army and Air Force during the Korean War. After returning home from his tour of duty, Floyd worked as a Civil Engineer with the Corp of Engineers and later with FEMA until his retirement.
Floyd was a man of many talents and known as a jack of all trades. He especially enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Regional Squares Club. Floyd danced all around Texas and Germany.
He is survived by his stepdaughter, Ravina Towe of North Carolina, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Alene Nowell, Velma Filippone and Lorinda Manasco, and by his three brothers, Denis, Clyde and Donald Morbitzer.
The family request that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to any Disabled Veterans Program.
