Fern "Beisch" Shook Schreiber, age 90, of Windthorst, Texas passed away Friday morning, July 14, 2023, in a Wichita Falls hospital.

Vigil service and Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Windthorst.  Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Reverend Michael Moloney, OFS, Pastor of St. Mary's and St. Boniface Catholic Church, officiating. A private family interment will follow in Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Fern was born August 14, 1932 in Kamay, Texas to the late Claude Alexander Beisch and Juanita Henson Beisch.

She graduated from Valley View High School and attended Midwestern University.

Fern married Dean Shook on June 25, 1949 in Valley View.  He preceded her in death on June 22, 1969. Fern was a bookkeeper for H.B. Talley Insurance, Ayres Welding, Bullington-Mason Insurance, and Sheppard Air Force Base.

Fern then married Harold Schreiber on February 14, 1976 in Windthorst adding four children to her family.   He preceded her in death on December 10, 2014. She was the owner and operator of Schreiber House of Flowers for several years

She moved to Windthorst from Holliday in 1976 and was a homemaker for the rest of her life.  Fern was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she was very active.  She loved arts, décor, painting, gardening and floral crafts.  Fern was an excellent cook.

Survivors include three sons, Murray Shook and wife, Annette of Burleson, Tim Schreiber of Lewisville and Glen Schreiber and wife, Rhonda of Wichita Falls; one daughter, Susan Hartwig of Prescott, Arizona; eight grandchildren, Sarah, Erin, Heather, Ryan, Justine, Miranda, Madison and Mason; nine great-grandchildren; several God-Children including Emily Beisch Kirk; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Donald Schreiber; daughter-in-law, Tracy Schreiber; two sisters; and two brothers.

The family suggests memorials to The Windthorst Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 162, Windthorst, Texas 76389.
