Edith Joyce Lewis Wright, age 95, lifelong resident of Archer City passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016, at her residence.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at the First Baptist Church of Archer City with Adam Davis, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the First Baptist Church.

Edith was born April 19, 1921 in Archer City to the late Charles Austin Lewis and Parkie Matilda Sherman Lewis.

She and Billie Joe Wright were married September 13, 1944 in San Bernadine, California.

Edith was employed as Director of Nurses when the Archer County Hospital was first opened until her retirement after twenty-four years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Her greatest accomplishment was being the best mother to her children and family.

Survivors include her husband, Billie Joe Wright of Archer City; two sons, David Wright and wife, Vicki of Archer City and Eddie Wright and wife, Jana of Bennington, Vermont; one daughter, Connie Nowell and husband, Joe of Corpus Christi, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Tricia Wright of Kountze,Texas; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Anita Mills of Wichita Falls.

She was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Wright on February 2, 2015; three sisters, Beatrice Stewart, Violet Lacey, and Mary Black; and four brothers, J.D., Newt, Herman and Ott Lewis.
