Edith Burton, age 88, of Electra, Texas passed away Monday night, April 7, 2014, in the Electra Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra with Darwin M. Stroud, Pastor of the First Assembly of God, officiating. Interment will follow in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Edith was born July 5, 1925 in Montague County, Texas to Mackey Kirk and Estellene Jackson Kirk.

She and William "Red" Burton, Jr. were married October 29, 1945 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2002.

Edith was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed her time with her family. She attended Bible Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Lynda Kimbro and husband, Leon of Electra, Glenda Hernandez and husband, Richard of Electra, Brenda Fitts of Electra, and Gay Graham and husband, Johnny of Amarillo, Texas; three sisters, Minnie Bailey and husband, Kelly of Paducah, Texas, Annie Garrett of Paducah, and Nettie Carr of Tulsa, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Larry on November 1, 1972; two brothers, J.C. and David Kirk; two sisters, Maggie Teague and Juanita Ford; on e great-grandson, Noel Hernandez, Jr.; and one great-great-grandson, Devin Parker Villarreal.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Alex Arias, Derek Fitts, Andrew Hernandez, Jimmy Hernandez, Larry Hernandez, Noel Hernandez, and Richie Hernandez.

The family suggests memorials to Senior Citizens Center, 503 West Michigan Ave., Electra, Texas 76360.
