Electra

Eddie Lee Williams Sr., age 63, of Electra, Texas passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013, in the Electra Memorial Hospital.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at Aulds Funeral Home in Electra, with Rev. Clark Edward Jones, Pastor of the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Dick Sparks Cemetery in Electra under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Eddie was born October 13, 1949 in Lewisville, Arkansas to Robert Lee Williams and Juanita Collins Williams. He grew up in Ennis, Texas and after high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He had completed the Aviation Fleet Preparatory Class A School among many other courses.

He and Mary Ann Martin were married January 5, 1973 in Vernon, Texas. After their marriage, they moved to Electra where he was employed as a machinist for Bill Dorland's machine shop. In 1995, he moved back to Ennis and was employed in the construction business and had worked as a diesel mechanic.

He retired in 2005 due to health reasons and in 2006 he returned to Electra. He had attended Bible Baptist Church in Electra.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Eddie Lee Williams Jr. of Electra, and Roderick Deon Williams of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Darnell Machell Williams of Electra; his parents, Robert Lee and Juanita Williams of Ennis; two brothers, Ernest and David Williams, both of Dallas; eight sisters, Lena McCarver, Mary Ann Horton, Juanita Williams Kelly, Valerie Williams, and Carolyn Hudson, all of Dallas, and Evelyn Williams, Nettie Whiteside, and Darlene Brown, all of Ennis; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Darnett Lashell Williams on May 21, 2010.
