Eddie Joe "Sarge" Copher, age 87, of Electra, Texas passed away Monday, September 17, 2018, in University Park Manor in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Military services will be held at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
Joe was born July 31, 1931 in Clay County, Texas to the late Dewey Alton Copher and Ruth Mae Taylor Copher.
He proudly served his country in United States Army during the Korean War and also the Vietnam War. While serving in the Army, he received the National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal ( 5th Award) Army Occupation Medal (Germany) Korean Service Medal, United Nation Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, 6 O/S Bars and a Purple Heart. He retired after over twenty-one years of service.
Joe enjoyed cooking and spending time with his grandchildren and going to Oklahoma. He loved his wife, sons and grandchildren. He was a great man.
Survivors include his wife, Dagmar Copher of Electra; two sons, David Copher of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Clarence Copher and wife, Kimberly of Electra; three grandchildren Justin Warren, Amberly Udan, and Samantha Simon; and six great-grandchildren, Kristanna, Lilly, Jaxson, Hayden, Foster and McKinley.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Joe Copher.
