Dorothy Mae Henderson, age 93, of Electra, Texas passed away Friday, August 11, 2023.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Electra with Joe Ainsworth of Electra officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2023, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
Dorothy was born August 20, 1929 in Byers, Texas to the late Charley Z. Northcutt and Agnes Hail Northcutt. She graduated from Shamrock High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she served as both Director and Secretary of Adult Sunday School Class. She also was a member of the choir and Naomi Sunday School Class. Dorothy was also President of the PTA at Dinsmore Elementary School and worked with the boy scouts and little league organizations for many years.
She was employed by Choate's Auction Service for forty-seven years.
She married Jack D. Henderson on March 18, 1951 in Wheeler, Texas. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2009.
Survivors include two sisters, Leona Coats of Sanger, Texas and Ada Walker of Sulphur, Oklahoma; one brother, Chester Northcutt and Faye of Vernon; one sister-in-law, Mary Northcutt and her son Gary of Garland, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Kimberly Henderson of Electra; six grandchildren, Dusti Richardson and husband, Roy of Electra, Zach Henderson and Tami Carlile of Vernon, Clifton Henderson of Electra; Connie Henderson of Electra, Daron Henderson of Iowa Park, and Terral Henderson and wife, Jessica of Iowa Park; eleven great-grandchildren, Kolter, Kimberly, Klayton, Kaydan, Joseph, Hagen, Reagan, Holden, Jayda, Olivia and Jaydin.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Jackson in 1990; and two sons, Michael Henderson on April 18, 2011 and Billy Jack Henderson on April 19, 2022; one grandson, Troy Jackson; and one brother, Charles Northcutt.
The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church, 406 W. Garrison, Electra, Texas 76360.
