Donald R. Strain, age 83, of Archer City, Texas, formerly of Denison, Texas, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015 in the Archer City Nursing Center.
No services are set at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
Donald was born April 5, 1931 in Seymour, Texas to the late Jessie Elmer Strain and Onie Clementine Ogles Strain.
He graduated in 1949 from Wichita Falls High School. He owned an Electronics Shop where he repaired televisions and radios. In 1977, he moved to Dennison where he owned and operated Laundry Mats in Dennison and also Wichita Falls. He retired in 2000.
Donald and Dorothy Lou Stevens were married April 15, 1977 in Durant, Oklahoma.
Donald's favorite pastime was tinkering with electronics and electronic inventions.
Survivors include his wife, Dottie Strain of Johnson City, Tennessee; five daughters, Connie Wright and husband, Don of Harrison, Michigan, Donna Stott and husband, Gary of Fort Worth, Julia Hopkins of Archer City, Kristy Strain of Wichita Falls and Suzan Harrison and husband, Mike of Johnson City, Tennessee; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Archer City Nursing Center, P.O. Box 786, Archer City, Texas 76351 or to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
