Donald Richard “Don” Stell, age 95, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, July 4, 2026, in Hospice of Wichita Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2026, at Life Church in Wichita Falls with Pastor Gene Holley, Jr. officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
The family will receive guests from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Life Church.
Don was born February 10, 1931, in Pecos, Texas to the late Harmon Carroll Stell and Laura Lee Duvall Stell.
He graduated from Pecos High School. After his school years, Don joined the United State Air Force where he served in the Korean War.
He and Linda Kay Dutton were married April 25, 1975 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Throughout his life, Don worked as a contract Electrician. He was a forty-plus year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Don loved coaching his two sons in baseball when they were children. He enjoyed golfing and was always willing to give his family members who enjoyed the game tips and advice on a successful game. Don also found great joy in traveling to Colorado for trout fishing and snow skiing. He was an avid crossword puzzle worker and crypto quote solver.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Linda Stell of Wichita Falls; one son, Keith Stell of Wichita Falls; one grandson, Jeramy Stell of Austin; his sister, Patricia Simmons of Vashti; brother, Bruce Stell of Bowie; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Don was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Wayne Stell.
The family wishes to thank the special nurses at United Regional Hospital and Hospice of Wichita Falls for the loving care they provided Don and gives a very special thank you to Julie Henderson for being there and loving Don like her own family.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Don’s name be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
