Danny Hughes, age 69,  of Electra, Texas passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Electra with Pastor Ryan Vanderland officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Aulds Funeral Home.

Danny was born on May 11, 1952 at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas.  He graduated from Electra High School in 1971.

He married Nina on August 25, 1973 and she preceded him in death on April 4, 1990.

Danny was an Amateur Radio Operator and Weather Alerter.  He was Assistant EC for Electra with ARES.  He was given an award by Wichita County Sky Warn for his service to the city and county.  He mentored several people who have gone to mentor others so there is no telling how many new ham radio operators  that he is responsible for.  Danny also worked the Hotter N Hell 100 for at least twenty-seven years.

Danny was a member of the First Baptist Church of Electra.

Danny was an avid Texas Ranger and Dallas Cowboy Fan.  If at all possible, please wear either a Texas Ranger Shirt or Dallas Cowboy Shirt to the service.

Survivors include his brother, Doug Hughes of Rushville, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend and caregiver, Sherri Long and dear friends, William and Joyce Light; and all of his Amateur Radio Family.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Hartwell and Patsy Minderman.
