Danny Hopkins, age 63, of Archer City, Texas passed away Monday, August 30, 2021, at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2021, at the First Baptist Church of Archer City with Mikey Pesqueda, Pastor of the First Baptist Church and Roger Deerinwater of Archer City officiating.  For those who can't attend the service, it will be live streamed on First Baptist Church Facebook Live. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

Danny was born December 12, 1957 in Wichita Falls to the late Paul Melvin Hopkins and Flora Leann Key Hopkins.

He graduated from Archer City High School where he excelled in all sports.  He then attended A & M and also Midwestern State University.

He married Linda Maxwell and together they had two children, Lindsey and Caleb.  Later, he married Julia Harris and also raised her daughter, Becky.

Danny worked with his father at Hopkins Perforating Service for several years.  He then went to work for Bridwell Oil Company for ten years and Burnett Oil Company in West Texas and Pennsylvania until his retirement.

Danny was very active with his community.  He coached Little League Baseball and served as President.  He was very proud of his team, "Undefeated Naturals".  He was the announcer for the Pee Wee and Midgets football teams. He was a member of the Boy Scouts Troop 100 where his father was the Scout Master.  Danny enjoyed camping and spending time with his family.  You could see him around town with the grandkids on his golf cart.  Danny was a man of many words and enjoyed sharing them with friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Lindsey Page and husband, T.J. of Georgetown, Texas and Becky Marin of Archer City; one son, Caleb Hopkins and wife, Mary of Wichita Falls; sister, Carol Crowley and husband, Jim Bob of Archer City; brother, David Hopkins of Grand Prairie; six grandchildren, Hayden and Mason Page, Brodie Bellah, Kassidy, Kamdyn and Kennedy Marin; and his beloved Kitty Dog.

He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Charles "Chuck" Crowley on June 7, 2014.

The family suggests memorials to the Chuck Crowley Scholarship Fund, C/O Archer City ISD, P.O. Box 926, Archer City, Texas 76351.
