Danny was born November 22, 1946 in Gorman, Texas to the late Bud Clack and Wilma Faye White Clack.
He graduated from Cisco High School in 1965. Danny then attended Tarleton State University where he received a Bachelor of Education Degree. Later in life, he received a Master in Education Administration from Midwestern State University and subsequently his superintendent certification from Tarleton State University.
Danny and Brenda Slatton were married December 30, 1966 in Cisco, Texas.
He served his state and country by spending seven years in the Army National Guard of Texas.
Danny was a teacher, coach, principal and superintendent for many years. During his life, Danny was also a Texas Game Warden from 1972-1977 and then worked as a private game warden for the Waggoner Ranch. He spent five years working for the Burnett Triangle Ranch, where his daughters say some of their favorite memories were made. Danny finally retired as superintendent of Winters ISD.
Hunting, fishing and reading were among some of his favorite things to do in life, but ultimately spending time with his family was his very favorite. Danny spent countless hours traveling to and attending the events, games and programs of his granddaughters. His family said God and church were extremely important to him and he made sure they knew that. Danny's daughters say there was no man ever more wired to be a girl dad and granddad than their dad was.
